Organization
The Director of the Doctoral School of the University of Barcelona is designated and appointed by the Rector of the UB from among the foremost members of its research community, who must have a
minimum of three positively evaluated six-year research periods. The Director coordinates the activities of the Doctoral School, is its highest representative, and designs the main policy lines to coordinate and promote doctoral studies at the UB. They also direct the administrative and budgetary management of the EDUB and oversee the functional management of the technical, administrative and service staff

As the highest governing body for doctoral studies, the Management Committee is responsible for developing the doctoral programmes and for planning and coordinating the design of multidisciplinary training activities for doctoral students. It also defines and regulates the transversal training activities carried out by doctoral students. It approves the annual calendar for the management of doctoral programmes and the corresponding budget. The Management Committee also drafts and approved the regulations on doctoral studies and the School's code of good practices, as well as preparing requests and reports for ministerial approval of new doctoral programmes.
