Activity log

It details the tasks and activities you carry out during your doctoral studies.

You must record all of the activities relevant to the development of your research, in accordance with the instructions of the Academic Committee.

The document must be reviewed each year by the tutor and thesis supervisor(s) and evaluated by the Academic Committee as part of your annual progress review. Any activities added by the doctoral student must be authorized and certified by the tutor and the thesis supervisors.

There are two types of training: transversal training activities (useful for all doctoral students) and specific training activities (tailored to the specific research being carried out).

The transversal training activities are useful for anyone enrolled in a doctoral programme, regardless of the branch of knowledge. There are many possible types of activity. For example:

  • Welcome events
  • Methodological seminars and thesis review sessions
  • Research group seminars
  • Specific courses
  • Thesis presentation sessions
  • Summer schools
