Enrolment for the first academic year

Once you have been admitted, you must begin the enrolment process.

Administrative procedures and documentation: here you will find everything you need to know to enrol in the first year of doctoral studies at the UB.

Once you have been approved for access to doctoral studies and admitted to your chosen programme, you must enrol for tutorial support in the academic year and in the period in which admission was granted. Remember that if you do not enrol, admission will be cancelled, unless you are subsequently awarded a predoctoral contract. In this case, you can enrol later, at any time.

There are two enrolment periods at the UB: September/October and February. You must enrol in the period in which you were granted admission to the programme. Any doubts or queries about the enrolment process should be addressed to the Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff at the corresponding faculty.

Online enrolment

Enrolment is completed online, you do not need to visit the Secretary's Office.
  • When do I enrol? You should check with the faculty to find out the exact enrolment periods and deadlines for your programme.
  • What documentation will I need? I most cases, the documents for access and admission will have been validated by the Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff. If you were granted conditional enrolment, you will need to submit the documents before the second enrolment period.
  • What if I am entitled to free enrolment? If you are entitled to free enrolment, you must state this when you enrol. The supporting documentation should be submitted to the Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff.
  • If you have a predoctoral contract (PRE-DOCS UB, FI, FPU, FPI), you are also entitled to free enrolment and will not need to submit any documentation. It is important to check that no fee has been applied during the enrolment process. If you have any doubts, contact the Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff.
  • Some foreign scholarships include an agreement with the UB for the enrolment fee to be paid directly on your behalf. Check with the awarding body.
  • Where can I enrol from? You can use any computer, following this link: Start enrolment.
  • To start the enrolment process, you need to log in. If you are already a UB student, you can use your existing username and password. If you are a new student, you can use the details you were given for access and admission. To clear doubts, check the information here.
  • At the end of the enrolment process, check that all the details are correct (personal and bank details, payment method, if you are entitled to any discount, etc.).
  • Once you have completed the process, save a paper or digital copy of the form for future use or reference.
