Doctoral research visits at the UB
1. Would you like to carry out a research visit at the UB? We can offer different types of research visit.
The UB offers different options for the research visit, to develop research towards the preparation of your thesis, to take part in specific training activities, or to build relationships with research groups. Get in touch with the UB's research institutes, departments and researchers and spend time with us.
2. If you are interested in carrying out a research visit at the UB as part of the Erasmus+ programme, an agreement must be in place between the UB and your home university.
Find out more about how to visit the UB as part of this exchange programme.
Confirmation of the research visit
Students coming to the University of Barcelona for their doctoral studies (incoming students) must obtain confirmation of supervision by a member of the UB's teaching staff (in the form of a provisional acceptance letter).
Requesting an Erasmus+ grant to come to the UB
First, contact the international relations office of your home university to find out if there is an Erasmus+ agreement between our institutions for doctoral studies in your area of study. The Erasmus+ programme is managed by the home institution.
Find a supervisor
The UB will help you find a supervisor/tutor. Please email us with your CV (you must specify thel evel of language skills) and a brief research and work plan for your visit (including the current stats of the research; which must be written in Spanish, Catalan or English) to: internacional.edub@ub.edu.
It can take some time to find a suitable supervisor, so you should contact us at least one month before the deadline for receiving proposals.
Documentation

- Accepted application, signed and stamped by your home university (online application).
- Provisional acceptance letter (signed by a member of UB teaching staff).
