We offer the widest range of doctoral programmes of any Catalan university
We currently have forty-eight doctoral programmes that cover many different areas of knowledge, complement by the best university research institutes, laboratories and research groups. We are the only university in Spain to boast membership of the League of European Research Universities (LERU), an alliance of the continent's most prestigious higher education institutions.

  • As a general rule, in order to access one of the UB's doctoral programmes you must hold an official undergraduate degree (or an equivalent qualification) and a master’s degree, which must have a combined study load of at least 300 ECTS credits.

    Step-by-step instructions are given below.

    Since places on each programme are limited, you will need to apply. Applications are submitted online and processed by the academic committee of each doctoral programme.   

    Once your application has been approved and you have been admitted to your chosen programme, you can begin the enrolment procedure.  ​​​​​​​
