Science session and roundtable: "Crisi de la pagesia: sostenibilitat i rendibilitat" (Crisis of the peasantry: sustainability and profitability)

Scientific session to address the crisis affecting the peasantry, focused on the aspects of profitability and sustainability. It will be opened by the rector, Joan Guàrdia and the coordinator of the Hub for Global Sustainability, Rosina Gironès. It will include the participation of researchers from different faculties:  M. Carme Llasat, Ana Moragues, Enric Tello and F. Xavier Sans. Among other participants are Joan Caball, coordinator of the Peasantry Union, and Elisenda Guillaumes, director-general for Agriculture and Farming at the Government of Catalonia. 

This session will be followed by a roundtable, chaired by Teresa Sauras, vice-rector for Sustainability and Climate Action. It will gather all the speakers with Montse Lligadas, Germán Domínguez, Imma Puigcorbé and Jordi Ginebreda, personalities and representatives of the agricultural sector. Finally, the event will close with an apéritif, to continue informal conversations and collaborate in the search for solutions regarding the crisis affecting the Catalan farmers.
