UB Rector’s Office elections begin on 4 December
The two candidates running in these elections are Eugeni Graugés, professor of Theoretical Physics and current dean of the Faculty of Physics, and Joan Guàrdia, professor of Methodology of Behavioural Sciences and current rector.
More than 54,000 people entitled to vote
This will be the sixth time, according to the current legislation, that the university community will elect the new rector by direct election and universal free and secret suffrage. In total, 54,877 people are entitled to vote.
There are four groups of voters in the Rector’s Office elections, each of whose vote has a different value: doctoral teaching staff on open-ended contract (the combined vote of this group has a value of 51% of the total); other teaching and research staff (value equivalent to 9% of the total); first and second cycle and doctoral students (30%); and administration and services staff (10%).
