The UB pays tribute to Albert Cornet on the first anniversary of his death

The University of Barcelona has organized an event to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of Albert Cornet. It will take place on 4 December at 6:00 p.m. in the Aula Magna of the Historic Building. The university community will thus remember Professor Cornet’s commitment to teaching innovation. In 2021, he received the Board of Trustees Award for teaching quality for his career, aimed at the constant improvement of learning.

The University of Barcelona has organized an event to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of Albert Cornet. It will take place on 4 December at 6:00 p.m. in the Aula Magna of the Historic Building. The university community will thus remember Professor Cornet’s commitment to teaching innovation. In 2021, he received the Board of Trustees Award for teaching quality for his career, aimed at the constant improvement of learning.
Among the attendants in the event are the Rector of the UB, Joan Guàrdia; the Vice-dean for Students and Quality of the Faculty of Physics, Pere Serra; the Emeritus Professor Claudi Mans; the former Vice-rector for Teaching and Science Policy, Maria Teresa Anguera; the principal researcher of the Research Group in Moral Education (GREM), Maria Rosa Buxarrais; the Rector’s Degelate for Open Science, Ignasi Labastida; the Head of the Technical Office for Teaching Projects and Services, Jordi Pardo; Albert Cornet’s last doctoral student, Gemma Martín, and, as representative of the Department of Electronic and Biomedical Engineering, Atilà Herms.

During the ceremony, a short audiovisual presentation in memory of Cornet will be broadcasted and there will be a performance of the gypsy dance of Castellar del Vallès.

Albert Cornet Calveras was professor of Electronics at the UB since 1990. He also held the post of Rector's Delegate for Teaching Innovation and directed the Department of Electronic and Biomedical Engineering.
