The UB-FOCUS INNOFOOD platform launches to promote innovation in the agri-food sector

The University of Barcelona, through the Torribera Food Campus and the company TransXforma Food, launch the UB-FOCUS-INNOFOOD platform to promote the creation of businesses and innovation in the agri-food sector. The main aim is to promote entrepreneurship and the transfer of knowledge generated at the University in the fields of food, nutrition and gastronomy towards the food and gastronomy industry.

The University of Barcelona, through the Torribera Food Campus and the company TransXforma Food, launch the UB-FOCUS-INNOFOOD platform to promote the creation of businesses and innovation in the agri-food sector. The main aim is to promote entrepreneurship and the transfer of knowledge generated at the University in the fields of food, nutrition and gastronomy towards the food and gastronomy industry.
The presentation of the platform took place on 16 January at the Torribera Food Campus, in a ceremony that included the attendance of the vice-rector for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transfer of the UB, Mercè Segarra; the president of TransXforma Food, Pedro Astal, and the CEO of the company, José María Cobo.

UB-FOCUS INNOFOOD will combine the UB’s research potential in the field of food with the experience of TransXforma Food in the transformation of the agri-food industry, in order to improve the sector’s competitiveness and efficiency. The initiative will promote the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the Torribera Food Campus, it will expand the collaboration in R&D&I research projects of the UB with companies from the agri-food field and will promote the creation of new businesses.
