The UB hosts a roundtable on innovation in the agri-food sector

The Aula Magna of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona hosted, today, a roundtable on innovation in the agri-food sector. This session featured the presentation of the pioneering innovative platform Focus InoFood, which results from a collaboration between the UB and TranXforma FOOD. Senior officials, former students of the San Telmo Business School attended this session.

The Aula Magna of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona hosted, today, a roundtable on innovation in the agri-food sector. This session featured the presentation of the pioneering innovative platform Focus InoFood, which results from a collaboration between the UB and TranXforma FOOD. Senior officials, former students of the San Telmo Business School attended this session.  

The participants in the roundtable were professors José Luis García del Pueyo and Manuel González-Toruño, from the San Telmo Business School; Pedro Astals and José María Cobo, president and CEO of TranXforma FOOD, respectively, and the UB’s vice-rector for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transfer, Mercè Segarra.
The participants addressed issues such as the challenges faced by the agri-food sector and the need for a cleaner, more sustainable, nutritive planet, with a reduction of emissions and waste. This is why initiatives such as Focus InoFood are key to creating clusters and ecosystems that connect actors of the sector and join efforts.
