From Monday 29 April, the UB’s student communication and services areas will be transformed. To offer better digital experience and facilitate access to useful information and services, the MónUB has become the new Student Portal and the SocUB personal space has been created.
The new Student Portal is presented as a more modern website adapted to mobile devices. Students will find all the latest news, information on grants and access to services, among other things. The great novelty is the creation of the new SocUB personal space, which comes with a renewed, more intuitive design and new personalised functionalities. It can be accessed both through the mobile app and the web version, which now becomes the students’ intranet.

The Vice-Rector for Students and University Life, Marta Ferrer, stresses that the development of the new student portal and the accompanying intranet are part of the plan to digitalise and personalise student services and attention: “The main goal is, on the one hand, to provide a single point of access to all the information students need and, on the other, to allow the personalisation of this information so that it can be adapted to the needs and characteristics of each user”.

Along these lines, one of the functionalities incorporated into the new students’ personal portal is the recommendation for courses and other activities, based on the information contained in the student’s syllabus. The aim of these changes is to provide students with information that may be of interest and useful to them. The UB has also incorporated functionalities for an easy consultation of transcripts and academic records, as well as UB Contacts, where students can find their representatives or other staff they may need to contact.

These functionalities have been developed with funding from the European Union, under the grant for the modernisation and digitisation of the Spanish university system (UniDigital), linked to the EU-funded Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan - Next Generation EU.
