A delegation from the US universities with the largest Hispanic student body begins a tour around Spain at the UB
The next destination for the representatives of the US universities will be Madrid. They will attend a session in which Diana Morant, Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, will participate. They will continue with visits to the University of Seville and the University of Castilla-La Mancha, in the city of Toledo.
The welcome session at the UB will be chaired by the Rector, Joan Guàrdia. Among the attendants will be the US consul, Katie Stana, the subdelegate of the Government in Barcelona, Josefa Beltrán Bertomeu, and a representative of the Inter-University Council of Catalonia. This will be followed by a working session on sustainability and universities, in which the UB’s Vice-Rector for Sustainability and Climate Action, Teresa Sauras, will speak.
Finally, the representatives of the fifteen American universities will have the opportunity to establish contacts with various Catalan universities present at the conference in a networking session.
HACU brings together more than 600 universities and colleges committed to the higher education of the Hispanic community. Members are US colleges and universities classified as Hispanic Serving Institutions, which are those where at least 25% of the students are of Hispanic origin.
