Representatives of European and African higher education institutions and governments gather at the UB
The Historic Building of the University of Barcelona will host, from 17 to 19 January, a conference that will gather around seventy representatives of African and European governments, institutions and organizations of higher education. The meeting, organized by OBREAL association in collaboration with the UB, is framed within the United Nations’ initiative called Harmonisation, Quality Assurance and Accreditation in African Higher Education (HAQAA).
The Historic Building of the University of Barcelona will host, from 17 to 19 January, a conference that will gather around seventy representatives of African and European governments, institutions and organizations of higher education. The meeting, organized by OBREAL association in collaboration with the UB, is framed within the United Nations’ initiative called Harmonisation, Quality Assurance and Accreditation in African Higher Education (HAQAA).
The conference will analyze the recognition model of policies, micro-credentials, lifelong training and quality systems, as well as the role played by African and European agencies and universities. With the participation of representatives of the European Comission, the African Union, UNESCO, the Coordination Group of the European Higher Education Area and the Bologna Implementation group (EHEA), the Association of African Universities and the Student European Union, the meeting will state the top priorities regarding the higher education area ministerial conference to take place in May in Tirana (Albania).
The HAQAA initiative, funded by the European Comission, aims to provide African countries with qualified workers, managers and administrators to promote sustainable development, favour trade and investment and strengthen citizens and democratic values.
