Studying on the UB Virtual Campus will become easier and more intuitive
Navigating through the Virtual Campus of the University of Barcelona is now easier and more intuitive thanks to the recent changes implemented on the platform, which has been updated in the Moodle 4.x version. Among other improvements, the options and the design of the sections have been simplified, and this allows for a customization of the user board. Also, the students can quickly see the finished tasks and the ones on the to-do list, so they can manage their progress more efficiently. On the other hand, the improvements in the Virtual Campus coincide with the launch of a new course on this platform aimed at all new UB students, in which the institution's values in terms of sustainability, equality and cybersecurity are shown.

Moreover, students will have a redesigned timeline and calendar, which more clearly shows upcoming events and assignment due dates. In addition, the users can access the sections Participants, Qualifications, and Competences. All side blogs can be displayed or not to get more space in the central part of the screen, where there are the resources and activities. Another addition is a course finder with a filter to make selections.
Regarding the teaching staff, from central area of the screen, they can access the options to manage the courses, which are more accessible. Another novelty is the increase in flexibility in managing the question bank, which includes resources such as the possibility of creating new versions for each question. In addition, there is a new feature that teachers can activate so that students can download all the course contents and have a copy, without having to save them one by one.
Moreover, it should be noted that there are small changes affecting certain functions: the Zoom tool is simplified and version 1.3 (the most updated one with most functionalities) is the only one left active, the Teams tool, which many teachers already used is added as well. Therefore, the PDI can choose between Teams or Zoom when it comes to video calls within the framework of subjects. The real-time interaction platform Wooclap has also been incorporated into the Campus.
The Open Forum is deactivated, since its functionalities are available in the standard Forum activity, and the third-party module H5P is transformed into a standard Moodle activity: H5P Interactive Content. Last, it should be noted that, with the last version, the graphic image of the Campus is unified, so that all courses have the same institutional image.
