Maria Teresa Lluch, professor of Psychosocial Nursing and Mental Health at the University of Barcelona, has become the first dean of the UB's newly created Faculty of Nursing after winning the 14 December elections. Lluch begins a six-year term as head of the centre.

Maria Teresa Lluch, professor of Psychosocial Nursing and Mental Health at the University of Barcelona, has become the first dean of the UB's newly created Faculty of Nursing after winning the 14 December elections. Lluch begins a six-year term as head of the centre.
M. Teresa Lluch is a graduate in Nursing, an expertin mental health nursing, and holds a degree and doctorate in Psychology. She began teaching at the UB School of Nursing in 1986, combining teaching with nursing care. In 1988 she obtained a post as a full university lecturer and in 2003 she became a full university professor. In 2021, she obtained the position of university professor and thus became the first professor of nursing in Catalonia and the only university professor in Spain in the field of psychosocial nursing. Her main line of research is nursing care based on positive mental health.

Lluch is a founding member of the Mental Health, Psychosocial and Complexity Nursing Care Research Group (NURSEARCH - 2021 SGR 1083) — the first nursing care research group in the Faculty of Nursing — and also of the Consolidated Teaching Innovation Group in Nursing oriented to Innovative Educational Techniques (GIOTEI), as well as a member of the UB COIB Chair in Nursing.
