Licia Verde receives the King Jaume I Award to Basic Research 2021

Licia Verde leads the ICCUB Research Group on Cosmology and Large-Scale Structure. She is an expert in fields ranging from theoretical cosmology to cosmic radiation of microwave fields, going through large-scale structure, galaxy clusters, statistical application and data analysis. She has worked on the main projects of cosmology of the last decade during her career: 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey (2dFGRS), Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP), Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI).
The awardee of the King Jaume I Award also received the Gruber Prize in Cosmology (2012) and the NASA Group Achievement Award for her contribution to the space mission Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe. In 2018, she was awarded the National Research Award of the Catalan Government, and in 2019 she received the Narcís Monturiol Medal.
