BCN Health Booster accelerator’s companies raise 51.8 million euros on their first year

The first generation of companies participating in the BCN Health Booster accelerator raised 51.8 million euros in public and private funding in 2022, the year the acceleration programme was launched. This figure represents the 6% of the 49 million euros they had already raised prior to this programme, led by the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) and the Barcelona City Council, with the support from Barcelona Activa and Biocat’s collaboration.

The first generation of companies participating in the BCN Health Booster accelerator raised 51.8 million euros in public and private funding in 2022, the year the acceleration programme was launched. This figure represents the 6% of the 49 million euros they had already raised prior to this programme, led by the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) and the Barcelona City Council, with the support from Barcelona Activa and Biocat’s collaboration.

On 31 December 20222, the private investment in the eleven participating companies, all in the sector of life sciences and healthcare, reached 16.4 million euros, and public funding raised more than 35.4 million euros. The main 2022 investment rounds were led by Deepull Diagnostics, with 13 million euros (in addition to a 20-million-euro loan from the European Investment Bank); GAT Biosciences, with 1.3 million euros; and GAT Therapeutics, with 1.5 million euros.
