The University of Barcelona is sponsoring and collaborating in the 12th Solidarity Race of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, organized by this university and the Town Council of Cerdanyola del Vallès, in support of La Marató de 3Cat. Registrations for the race, to take place on 17 December at 10.30 a.m., will be open until Friday 15 at 2.00 p.m.

The University of Barcelona is sponsoring and collaborating in the 12th Solidarity Race of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, organized by this university and the Town Council of Cerdanyola del Vallès, in support of La Marató de 3Cat. Registrations for the race, to take place on 17 December at 10.30 a.m., will be open until Friday 15 at 2.00 p.m.
This is the third year in a row the UB collaborates with this race, which reaches its twelfth edition. Participants can choose from four categories: a 500-metre race for people with reduced mobility, an 11.6 km race, a 6 km race, and a 6 km power walk. All four categories have a circular track: the starting and the finishing point is the UAB’s Vila Universitària. The minimum registration fee is 15 euros. You can also participate as part of the volunteering team.
The proceeds will go to the La Marató de 3Cat Foundation, which this year is dedicated to sexual and reproductive health. This theme covers a series of pathologies that have a prevalence — the proportion of affected people in a given population and at a given time — of three million people in Catalonia, and an incidence — the number of new cases that appear in a given population at a given time — which is estimated at 210.905 cases each year. La Marató wants to pay special attention to the need to consider the gender perspective in all areas of medicine and research.
