The UB supports young people’s mental health

This Christmas 2023, the Solidary Basket of the University of Barcelona, which appeals to the UB community in favour of a social cause every year, will allocate the raised money to the Bengala project, from Arep association, which aims to improve the mental health of young people.

This Christmas 2023, the Solidary Basket of the University of Barcelona, which appeals to the UB community in favour of a social cause every year, will allocate the raised money to the Bengala project, from Arep association, which aims to improve the mental health of young people.
The Bengala project is aimed at people aged 15-29 in Barcelona, who suffer from mental health problems, with or without a diagnosis, and who need psychological support. It offers individual psychological support to young people and to their family members, as well as a group of emotional management so that young people acquire basic skills of emotional awareness management.

With the support received from the Solidary Basket, Arep will be able to offer more hours of psychological support with professionals. Moreover, it will help break the stigma on mental health in young people and raise awareness of the importance of taking care of mental health.

There are four solidary baskets: the Galet basket, the Tió basket, the Neula basket and the Pessebre basket. All of them are full of prizes: an Iberian ham, tickets to see cultural shows as well as theatre and musical plays, book sets, wines, and nougat, among other things.

Until 15 December, all the members of the UB community can buy as many tickets (2 euros) as they want. The prize draw Will take place on 18 December, and prizes will be given on 22 December.
