The University of Barcelona’s international mobility call has undergone an important increase regarding the number of UB students’ applications to study abroad during the 2024-2025 academic year. The 2,288 applications represent an increase of 30% compared to last academic year, and highlight the importance of international experiences in the students’ curricula, both regarding the acquisition of new knowledge and language learning, and other skills such as the improving their employability.

Among the different programmes, there is a significant increase in applications to go on an Erasmus+: from 1,426 last year to 1,856 this year. Moreover, the Global Faculty UB and the Global UB Mobility programmes — to study abroad but beyond the European space thanks to agreements with distinguished universities from different countries — have increased from 262 to 178, and from 157 to 129 applications respectively.

This growth in demand results from the intensification of the informative and orientation tasks for students, which is transmitted through the campaign “The world, your campus”, and which provides the students with all the information on the possibilities offered by these international mobility programmes and the economic aids one can apply for.

The last call for the international mobility programmes closed on 15 November. The information on all the calls is available at the UB mobility portal, and those interested can visit the international relations offices at the UB’s centres and faculties. Furthermore, the University is organizing the International Mobility Fair so that students can find information about all the studying and internship options abroad.
