Graphic exhibition “Itʼs a wonderful life” in El Carme Cultural Centre Badalona
From September 30 to November 28, the room Josep Uclés in El Carme Cultural Centre, in Badalona, is holding the exhibition "Itʼs a wonderful life", from the photography project Leafhopper, formed by Blanca Galindo and David Simon. This initiative comes from the Vice-Rector's Office of Heritage and Cultural Activities of the UB and the Badalona City Council to bring contemporary art and photography closer to the audience interested in new narratives through images. "Itʼs a wonderful life" has had some experience after having taken part in the contest PhotoEspaña 2020 and after the publication of the book Itʼs a wonderful life. Leafhopper in 2019. Now it arrives in the room Josep Uclés in El Carme Cultural Centre, as an exhibition. The exhibition goes over, through visual poetry via photography and video, concepts such as addiction, emotional bonds, individualism or consumerism, and how these can have a dark side or a "wonderful life". The exhibition is open, with free entrance, from Tuesday to Friday, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and on Sundays and public holidays, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Extra activities
There will be extra activities during the exhibition period, which will take place in Badalona in October and November.
On Thursday, October 21, at 7:00 p.m., the library Canyadó i Casagemes - Joan Argenté (Jacinto Benavente, 3) will hold the presentation of the book Itʼs a wonderful life. Leafhopper.
In the same room Josep Uclés in El Carme Cultural Centre (Francesc Layret, 78-82), there will be two more workshops: one aimed at adolescents, on Sunday, October 24, at 12 noon, and another for families, on Sunday, November 21, at 12 noon. In these workshops, the attendees will make a fanzine and a book with staples or a collage with different cut images on the topic they treat in the introduction.
All the activities will be carried out by the creators of the artist and visual project, David Simon and Blanca Galindo, curators of the exhibition. Places are limited, and previous registration is required on the cultural agenda of the website of the Badalona City Council.
