The Hall of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona will host, from 9 to 10 April, an exhibition organised by the Faculty of Fine Arts. The exhibition will show the selected works of the European platform S+T+ARTS, as part of the MUSAE project. It will present the pieces by twelve artists who have taken part in an international residency based on imagining possible future scenarios based on the concept of "Food as medicine".
The presentation ceremony will feature the intervention of the Vice-Rector for Research, Jordi Garcia, and the coordinator of the MUSAE project, Marita Canina. In addition, the twelve artists will present their projects and there will be a debate on their creative processes. To attend, it is necessary to register in advance on this link. The exhibition will continue throughout the day on Wednesday 10 April, from 9:00 to 21:00, and will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the different creations on display.

The artists who have participated in this initiative are: Chloé Rutzerveld, Lisa Mandemaker, Eleonora Ortolani, Sanja Sikoparija, Nonhuman Nonsense, Baum & Leahy, Peter Andersen, Genomic Gastronomy, Frederik De Wilde, Maciej Chmara, Katarina Andjelkovic and Irena Djukanovic.

The art pieces have been created under the MUSAE project, funded by the Horizon Europe research programme through the Science, Technology and Arts (S+T+ARTS) platform. This project promotes social, ecological and economic change within the European framework, and is developed by a network of universities, research centres and companies.

On the UB side, researchers from the faculties of Mathematics and Computer Science and Fine Arts, who are the organisers of this exhibition, are taking part. The aim of MUSAE is to create a new model of collaboration based on innovation through art and design, with technology companies, to improve the sustainability of the food value chain in different areas.

In this project, artists were called to create an element of food that would be sustainable in the future, in a ten-year scenario. From the projects submitted, twelve artists were selected to exhibit their work at the UB. In the second phase of the project, the aim is to find companies willing to develop some of the proposals presented in this exhibition.
