The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences hosts and exhibition on the funerary art of Catalan medicine

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona has recently inaugurated the exhibition “L’art funerari a la medicina catalana. Una passejada pels cementiris de Barcelona” (Funerary art in Catalan medicine. A walk around Barcelona’s cemeteries). The exhibition, coordinated by the Clínic Campus CRAI Library, offers an itinerary around some cemeteries in Barcelona, through which one can find out about the historical connections between many personalities of the Catalan medicine and the artistic funerary creations in their memory. The exhibition will be open until 20 December, in the hall of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (Carrer de Casanova, 143)

Curated by Ida Carrau and Joan Pujol, it includes illustrations by the artist Joan Bueno, documents given by the Historical Archive of Sitges (from a donation by Jordi Mirabent Castiel) and the Funerary Library of Barcelona’s Cemetries, as well as monographies from the CRAI Library of the University of Barcelona.
