The films Poor Things and Green Border have won the prizes that the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) awards every year in the framework of the Venice International Film Festival, organized by the Biennale. Among the nineteen students who made up the jury were Marina Francisco, a student at the Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media of the University of Barcelona, and Pau Peidro, a student at the School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia (ESCAC), a UB-affiliated centre.
These two students were selected among the candidates from the 149 universities that make up UNIMED, and have had the opportunity to evaluate some of the most brilliant audiovisual works of the year. Both have agreed to value very positively this experience, "unique and full of learning".

The two awards given by UNIMED distinguish the best film, on the one hand, and the one that best conveys the values of cultural diversity, on the other. UNIMED is made up of universities from 24 countries in the Mediterranean area, including the UB. Its aim is to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic cooperation. The UB currently holds one of the two vice-presidencies of this network.
