The University of Experience is a training programme aimed at people over the age of fifty-five, which aims to encourage the participation of this group in the socio-cultural context represented by the University and to demonstrate that training cannot be considered finished as long as a spark of intellectual curiosity is kept alive. This programme therefore offers a unique opportunity to interact with people who have the same interests and want to share knowledge and experiences.

The courses are taught in the different faculties of the University of Barcelona, thus encouraging the integration of senior students into university life. The offer covers a wide range of subjects (philosophy, literature, history, biology, art history, psychology, economics, law, education, food, astronomy and meteorology, health sciences, library science, etc.), which next year will be improved with the Cross-disciplinary Science programme, with subjects in mathematics, physics, geology and genetics, and the Multidisciplinary Programme, with subjects from different university degrees. This is the University of Experience's new commitment to intergenerational relations.

Also, the scientific, humanistic and social seminars allow for an in-depth study of various aspects related to the university programmes, and the complementary activities (music and theatre courses, reading club, creative writing workshops, yoga, healthy movement, chi-kung, etc.) contribute to maintaining a healthy and energetic life, both physically and intellectually.

The number of places is limited, so it is necessary to pre-register —prior to enrolment— to access the first course. Pre-registration will be open from 26 June to 2 July. Enrolment for the second and third courses will open on 12 June, and for seminars and complementary activities on 3 July.
