The Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU) has coordinated the study on labour market integrations of graduates, once again with the involvement and support of the boards of trustees of the universities, to find out the degree of graduate integration and employment conditions. The aim is to promote continuous improvement at the universities and to bring them closer to the demands of society. The main result shows that 89.6% of University of Barcelona bachelor's degree graduates, 92% of university master's degree graduates and 96.8% of doctoral graduates have a job three years after completing their studies. These data show a positive evolution regarding the last editions of the survey, which is carried out every three years.

Furthermore, according to data from the Encuesta de Población Activa (EPA) for the first quarter of 2023, the UB's figures are higher than those for the Spanish population as a whole, with 85% of graduates (or equivalent) and 88% of master's degree graduates in employment. This corroborates the guaranteed employability of university graduates in general and the good employability of UB graduates in particular.

As for job stability, it is increasing in the case of degrees — 6 out of 10 contracts are permanent — and Internet portals are gaining weight as a means of entry into the first job (from 10% in the previous edition to 21%), to the detriment of other routes, such as personal contacts or personal initiative. In terms of skills, English remains the main skill to improve.

On the other hand, the rate of graduates who would return to study at the same university has slowed to 84% for bachelor's degrees and 88% for master's degrees. On the other hand, the percentage of PhD and master's graduates who would repeat their studies has improved: 85 % and 69 %, respectively.

The AQU report also states that "studying a master's degree increases the chances of promotion and salary improvement, as well as being a source of attraction and retention of talent". Thus, almost 7 out of 10 UB master's degree graduates are promoted in their professional category and 64% improve their salary.

At doctoral level, almost half reported that they had changed jobs after obtaining their degree. In terms of salary, 78% earn more than 2,000 euros.

By gender, regarding graduates 56% of men earn more than 2,000 euros compared to 44 % for women; and regarding master’s graduates, 89% of men work full time compared to 84% for women; and regarding doctorates, 79% of women work in the public sector compared to 73% of men.

The Technical Bureau at the Rector's Office has analysed the data of the University of Barcelona and its evolution throughout the eight editions of this study. They can be consulted at the following link:
