Kristen G. Anderson, professor of Psychology at Reed College (Portland, United States), will carry out an academic stay at the University of Barcelona this March, as an activity of the agreement signed by both universities. Anderson, an expert on addictive behaviours in adolescents and on the barriers that limit sports participation among women from marginalized groups, will take part in master’s and bachelor’s degree sessions at the UB’s Faculty of Psychology.
Under the same exchange program, Noemí Pereda, lecturer and researcher at the UB’s Faculty of Psychology, and expert on child and adolescent victimology, will stay at the Reed College in September.

Professor Anderson will take part in sessions of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Cyberspace, Behaviour and E-therapy (CYBER), and in some lessons of the subject Psychological Evaluation from the bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Moreover, she will participate in meetings with researchers of the UB’s Individual Differences Lab.

The agreement between the UB and the Reed College covers a great range of actions. Apart from the teaching staff exchange, it includes a language scholar exchange program in which UB students carry out activities to support Spanish learning at Reed College. Moreover, the mobility programmes Global UB Mobility and Study Abroad offer student exchange for students of any bachelor’s and master’s degree.

The Vice-Rector for Internationalization Policy, Raúl Ramos, notes that the agreement with Reed College “provides with a firm collaboration with a prestigious university, aiming to expand our international networks and strengthen bilateral collaborations in fields of common interest”. “We need to stress that the Study Abroad programmes are a relevant piece within the UB’s internationalization strategy. We want to continue promoting these collaborations in the future”, concludes Raúl Ramos.
