The University of Barcelona is offering students of the UB’s regular courses and the University of Experience, as well as teaching and research staff (PDI), the technical, management, administration and services staff (PTGAS) and members of Alumni UB a series of eight free, informative lectures in May, given by Ukrainian refugee university lecturers.
The season of conferences, coordinated by Marc Ruiz-Zorrilla, lecturer at the Faculty of Philology and Communication, will be held over four days in May in the Sala d’Actes (boardroom) of the UB’s Jeroni Granell building (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 582). The Vice-Rector’s Office for Internationalization Policy, the Slavic Studies Section and the Complementary Training Department have been responsible for organizing this conference series.
To attend, you need to register via this link. The deadline for registration is 7 May, and registration is for all four sessions. At the end, a certificate of attendance will be awarded.
The series consists of two lectures per session, with a thirty-minute break in between. The schedule is from 4.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., except for the first session, which will be extended until 7.00 p.m. due to the opening presentation of the event.
This initiative results from the support programme for Ukrainian refugee teaching staff, hired by the UB from the start of the war in 2022, who will give lectures in Spanish. The UB, which mobilized against the war from the outset in an event in March 2022, launched a support programme in May of the same year for the Ukrainian university community affected by the conflict in the country.
