The School of Modern Languages (EIM) of the University of Barcelona is moving the dates of the language certification tests students need in order to get an international mobility grant. The aim is to provide more flexibility and opportunities for the students.

The tests to obtain the UB official language certification will take place form 18 September. There will be five tests for English, two for French, one for Italian and one for German. Interested students can get a discount if they register for the tests up to one week before the test date. Registration can be done online on the EIM website

The changing of the dates of the tests aims to give students more time to prepare for applying for grants and to show their language skills, enabling them to apply for mobility grants. The EIM certificate certifies language levels regarding the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), and thus it increases the chances of success in applying for grants for an educational experience abroad. In addition, if level B2 or higher is obtained, the students can apply for the Parla 3 grant from the Catalan Government, with which they cover the full cost of the test.

This change in dates of certification tests reflects the University of Barcelona’s commitment to helping students and encouraging their international mobility by providing them with the necessary language tools.

To register for the exams or for more information on the dates and requirements, you can visit the official website of the UB School of Modern Languages or visit the headquarters at Casa Jeroni Granell  ).
