Welcome ceremony for the new doctoral students

The University of Barcelona welcomed the 1,038 people who have enrolled for the first time in a doctoral programme, in a ceremony that took place on Wednesday 13 March at the Historic Building.

The University of Barcelona welcomed the 1,038 people who have enrolled for the first time in a doctoral programme, in a ceremony that took place on Wednesday 13 March at the Historic Building. 
The session included a presentation of the UB’s Doctoral School, and several aspects related to the organization of the studies were explained. Moreover, the session included information about internationalization, language integration programmes, and several basic issues for people with a predoctoral contract. The Vice-Rector for Doctoral Studies, Research Staff in Training and Talent Attraction, Maria Feliu, told the doctoral students that they can count on the support of the University. "We want you to go further than us, we want you to be better than us", she concluded.

The UB has a wide range of doctoral programmes (forty-six). According to the data from the Catalan University Quality Assurance System (AQU), the employment ratio of people with a doctoral degree from the UB is 96.8%, a figure regarded as full employment.
