The University of Barcelona spin-off Nimble Diagnostics has been recognized as the best deep tech start-up at the second Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, which took place on 28 and 29 November.
Nimble Diagnostics, a company created in 2022, develops the first medical device to monitor stents implanted non-invasively in people with heart problems. It is also a spin-off from the Germans Trias i Pujol Institute and the Technical University of Catalonia.
For the second year running, the award for best deep tech start-up went to a UB spin-off. Last year it was won by Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, a company in which the UB, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and the Institute of High Energy Physics take part, and which is a pioneer in Europe in the development and commercialization of quantum computers.
