Tardor Solidària a la UB: «Solidaritat, Cinema i Memòria»

This year the Tardor Solidària (Fall Solidarity) at the UB includes screenings of documentary films, round table talks and lectures.

On 17 November, the film Franco's Settlers is screened. Recently, it received the best documentary award on the New England Festival of Ibero American Cinema (NEFIAC)

On 19 November, the film Las maestras de la República, by Pilar Pérez Solano, is screened. It received the Goya Award for the best documentary in 2014.

Finally, on 20 November, the historian Nicolás Sánchez Albornoz, Emeritus Professor from the New York University who was sentenced to forced labour in 1947 during Francoʼs dictatorship, gives the lecture "El Valle de los Caídos", which is the name of the place where he served until he run away in 1948. Then, the documentary A lʼombra de la creu, by Alessandro Pugno, is screened. The film describes the place that continues being the symbol of a conflict that remains unsolved within the Spanish society.
