The conference "Catalysis for energy storage: enzymes and synthetic (bioinspired) materials", by Professor Marc Fontecave, is part of the program of the master degree in Applied Material Chemistry.

Marc Fontecave is the director of the Laboratory of Chemistry of Biological Processes of the College de France. His works, related to the field of chemistry of biological processes are specifically focused on reading comprehension and the reactivity of redox centers present in proteins. His research has applications in the field of  chemistry (selective catalysts), health (anticancerogenics, antioxidants), environment (bioremediation), and energy (hydrogen production).  His research task has been honored with several awards, such as the CNRS Silver Medal (2004), appointed Knight of the National Order of Merit (2010) and of Honor of Legion (2015). He is also member of the French Academy of Sciences (2005).
