Conference series on gender, health and equality: “Reflexiones en torno a la violencia obstétrica” (Registration until November 26)
The Equality Commisson of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is organizing five conferences on gender, health and equality, aimed mainly at the students of the bachelor degrees on Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry and Podiatry, and other students of bachelor degrees, master degrees or doctorates. Important people have been invited to the conferences, scheduled in a way so as to coincide with world days related to women, due their contributions from the gender perspective.
The aim of the conference series is to analyze, think about, and question several aspects which influence the construction of women identity and their lives, such as inequalities at work or representation in the media, as well as gender violence due its seriousness, to contribute and make this phenomenon visible both from the perspective of some cases and the detection guidelines and attitudes of health professionals.
This first conference will be given by Serena Brigidi, doctor in Medical Anthropology at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Welfare of the University of Vic. The activity will be presented and chaired by Dolors Rodríguez, lecturer from the Department of Fundamental Care and Medical-Surgical Nursing.
