From 15 to 19 September, the Faculty of Law hosts the 32nd Annual Course on International Law and Legal Information, organised by the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) and the Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) of the University of Barcelona. The aim of the course is to inform about Catalan legal situation in a global context. IALL is a non-profit organization composed by librarians, libraries and other persons and institutions concerned with the acquisition, dissemination and use of legal information from sources other than their own jurisdictions. Every year, the Association organises a course on international law.

From 15 to 19 September, the Faculty of Law hosts the 32nd Annual Course on International Law and Legal Information, organised by the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) and the Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) of the University of Barcelona. The aim of the course is to inform about Catalan legal situation in a global context. IALL is a non-profit organization composed by librarians, libraries and other persons and institutions concerned with the acquisition, dissemination and use of legal information from sources other than their own jurisdictions. Every year, the Association organises a course on international law.

The opening took place on Sunday 15 September at the Historic Building of the UB. The commissioner for Information and Documentation System, Carina Rey; the president of IALL, Petal Kinder, and Adelaida Ferrer (UB) presented the course.

Conference speakers are experts who give lessons at the University of Barcelona. They have taken part in legal or consultative processes. The course has about 120 attendants and it deals with the following issues: the Catalan Law in the Spanish context and the autonomous communities (Markus González); the independence of Catalonia (Josep Maria Reniu); the law of successions (Miriam Anderson and Jaume Tarabal); the effects of divorce on children (Elena Lauroba); same-sex couples in Spain and Catalonia (Mónica Navarro Michel); environment and urban planning legislation (Juli Ponce), open access (Ignasi Labastida), etc.

IALL provides an international forum for networking and information sharing among legal information professionals worldwide (lawyers, documentalists, librarians, etc.).
