The European project MyUniversity faces its final stage. It was born one and a half years ago with support of the European Commission to foster university community participation in decision-making processes related to higher education locally, nationally and at European level.

Throughout this period of time, fourteen universities from seven European countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden) have participated in the initiative. The University of Barcelona has set up its own portal to enable participation.

Through this website, all the members of the UB university community (students, teaching and research staff, and administrative and service staff) can get actively involved in a project which promotes dialogue by proposing higher education topics for discussion in which, obviously, the university community is interested.

Participants can choose among a great variety of tools and ways of participating, such as surveys, debates and processes, which enable them to exchange opinions and interact. Therefore, university community plays a more active role in decision-making processes.

The portal of the UB will launch several proposals next weeks to debate and exchange opinions:

- Time bank at the UB: your need in exchange for your abilities
- University cooperation, an increasing model
- Final projects under debate
- Social entrepreneurship, a new way of promoting fair, green and ethic companies
- Social Start-up Meeting Barcelona.

The objective is to foster debate on issues which affect university community. Contributions will be collected in reports which will be handed to governing bodies, so they will be useful when making decisions and elaborating future higher education regulations.

To get involved in this process, you can visit UBʼs portal within the project MyUniversity and register.
