The Catalan Centre for Advanced Studies in Cinema and Audiovisual Media, affiliated centre with the University of Barcelona, increases its course offerings for the next academic year with the official masterʼs in Cinematography, and becomes then the first centre which offers this degree in the country.

The new masterʼs in Cinematography is internationally addressed to people trained and experienced in the audiovisual field who want to increase their knowledge in a high quality educating institution. The masterʼs lasts two years and offers eight specialities: script, production, direction, photography, artistic direction, documentary, sound and editing. The number of students in each speciality is limited to six.

The masterʼs degree is eminently practical and focused on professional aspects; it has been conceived to stimulate the talent by means of joining a working group. Besides workshops and classes, students will be able to make a short film and a film. The objective is to create a meeting point between education and the professional world which contributes to establish synergies. National and internationally recognized professionals will train students.

Moreover, the ESCAC will increase its technical offerings. They want to create studies in carpentry, film set building, and digital effects. The former ones will take place in Barcelona (4 Salvadors street), whereas formal studies will continue to happen in Terrassa.

To carry out the new master, it will be necessary to extend ESCACʼs facilities in Terrassa. Two new buildings will be built around the main one, currently located at La Farinera (84 Colom Street).
