On Tuesday May 9, the University of Vigo will hold the first meeting for the world of universities and entrepreneurs, organized by Santander Bank on the occasion of the General Board of Universia Stockholders. There will be more than 300 entrepreneurs and rectors from all Spain.

The event, to be focused on four main themes related to entrepreneurship (fear of failure, need to pivot, creativity on the way of ideas for the product and finance), will provide a place so that emerging entrepreneurs can share experiences with consolidated ones, in the national and international fields, such as Anzo Pérez (8 belts), Verónica Pascual (Asti), Álvaro Mancilla (Workkola) or Pilar Manchón (Amazon, founder of Indisys).

All Spanish universities, Universia partners

The event will take place after the General Board of Universia Stockholders, in which there will be the highest representatives from the 79 Spanish universities members of this university network and which will be chaired by Ana Botín as president of Universia. Among other people will be the President of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) and the Rector of the University of Extremadura, Segundo Píriz, the Rector of the University of Vigo, Salustiano Mato, and the General Director of Santander Universitats and Universia, Javier Roglá. The Rector of the University of Barcelona, Joan Elias will also take part in the event.

Universia, sponsored by Santander Bank for all its activities, will make a balance of the initiatives that were developed during 2016 and will propose new work lines. Consolidated as an international reference of universities, the network gathers 1.407 Latin American academic institutions, representing 19.9 millions of university students.
