Ramon Alemany, new dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business
Ramon Alemany Leira, professor from the Department of Econometrics, Statistics and Applied Economics is the new dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona, after obtaining more votes than Màrius Domínguez, professor from the Department of Sociology,in the second round (27 to 23).
Jaume Valls, professor from the Department of Economy and Business Management and Gonzalo Bernardos, lecturer of Economic Theory, were also candidates in the elections for the Deanʼs Office held at the Board of the Faculty on March 23.
The dean-to-be and his team will take office on April 19 at Sala de Juntes room in the Rectorʼs Office. Alemany will replace Elisenda Paluzie, who has been dean of the faculty from 2009 to 2017.
