This funding aims at supporting grant-holders during the pre-demonstration phase to prepare a "package" to be presented to venture capitalists or companies that might invest in the new technology and take it through the early commercialisation phase. It promotes the innovation potential. The funding per grant is up to € 150.000.

Mel Slater has received a grant for the project "SERE: A System for Embodied Relational Experiences". Other award-winning Catalan projects are: "MULTINUTRIENT MAIZE: Multivitamin and multimineral fortified maize for food security", from the University of Lleida; "BIOXCAT: Bioinspired Catalysts for Commercial Applications",  from the University of Girona, and "GRAQUADOT: Novel ultrasensitive imaging sensors based on graphene-quantum dot hybrid technology", from the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO).
