Launch up of the app Bib@prop to find libraries and study rooms nearby
The UBʼs Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) has participated in the project Bib@prop: Les biblioteques ben a prop teu! A free app which aims to let people (especially the students) know which available libraries and study rooms they have around Catalonia.
The UBʼs Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) has participated in the project Bib@prop: Les biblioteques ben a prop teu! A free app which aims to let people (especially the students) know which available libraries and study rooms they have around Catalonia.
This app has been launched by the Library Service of the Generalitat de Catalunya with the collaboration of the Library Administration of the Diputació de Barcelona (provincial government of Barcelona), Libraries of Barcelona and University Libraries of Catalonia.
Bib@prop allows finding the nearest library or study room in the easiest way. At the moment 420 public and university libraries and study rooms can be pinpointed around Catalonia. The information offered to the student in real time via this app is about the libraries and study rooms that are closer to the user, the opening hours and conditions of use.
Bib@aprop will increase its offer of locations of places to study when other libraries and study rooms from town councils, universities, schools and associations join the app. .
This new initiative results from the active collaboration of many libraries from different institutions and networks, in the project LABO. Therefore, many efforts and resources from the public and university libraries are joined in order to favor studentʼs access to public services.
This app is already available for Android devices (via Play Store) and will be for iOS devices (via Apple iTunes) in this link
