On October 10, the University of Barcelona will hold the 1st International Mobility Fair, an activity for the students which will offer information on the different international mobility options they have at the UB. The activity, which will take place in the gardens of the Major College Penyafort-Montserrat from 12 noon to 5 p.m., will offer a program of ludic activities to fill this up with a festive atmosphere.

“We want to awaken the studentsʼ interest in mobility by showing all the destinations they can opt for”, says the vice-rector for Outreach and Internationalization of the UB, Àlex Aguilar. With this objective, the University edited, coinciding with this fair, leaflets for each of the 27 centers with information on the several mobility agreements. With these leaflets, the students will see which universities offer a mobility stay, its information being organized under degrees, countries, and with data of interest such as the language in which the lessons are taught.

The fair is divided into some spaces. In the first one, the welcome area, students will find these leaflets organized by faculties and will ask their doubts to the informants. Afterwards, they can walk around the place dedicated to Europe and the place dedicated to the rest of the world. In both cases, they can ask for information on different universities, which is geographically organized. In collaboration with the UB Barcelona ESN, the association of Erasmus students, international students who are now studying at the UB, known as the ambassadors, will answer doubts and give some talks.

There will be information on the mobility support by the UB services, from the Office of Mobility and International Programs to Language Services, the School of Modern Languages and the Doctoral School. The Fullbright Commission will present their grant program.

China, guest country

A fourth area is left for the guest country, which in this first edition of the fair is China. Now, the UB has signed agreements with 35 Chinese universities. The students can see the options at their reach so as to go to study in the Asian country. The Confucius Institute will have an own stand in this area, and there will be a China consular representation.

A stage will complete these facilities, and it will also offer ludic activities. Since China is the guest country, there will be kung fu exhibition and traditional Chinese music, apart from an area for Chinese food.
