During the opening ceremony for the course of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science that took place on October 3, the Best Paper Award 2017 by the journal Collectanea Mathematica was given to Professor Kangwai Li, from the University of Helsinki.

The award given by Professor Rosa M. Miró-Roig, from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, heading the editing team of this journal -in the first quartile of the category of Mathematics according to the Journal Citation Report- was given to Dr. Li for his article Two weight inequalities for bilinear forms.

The opening ceremony, presided by Rector Joan Elias, had the participation of the Dean of the Faculty Carles Casacoberta and Professor Jordi Marzo, who gave the opening lecture titled “Punts dʼenergia minima i empaquetaments dʼesferes”. In 2017, the journal Collectanea Mathematica created the Best Paper Award, a prize accounting for 2,000 euros to highlight the scientific quality of works that get to the editing team.
