Enrique Vila-Matas opens at the University of Barcelona the 7th Symposium of ASETEL

The writer Enrique Vila-Matas will open at the UB the 7th Symposium of the Spanish Association of Literary Theory (ASETEL). The symposium takes places on 31st January and 1st February in the aula Capella of the Historic Building.

The writer Enrique Vila-Matas will open at the UB the 7th Symposium of the Spanish Association of Literary Theory (ASETEL). The symposium takes places on 31st January and 1st February in the aula Capella of the Historic Building.

Vila-Matasʼ lecture, entitled “Los escritores de antes”, will open on Thursday, at 10 a.m., the 7th Symposium of ASETEL which will be focused on discussing the experience of reading from several points of view: historical, sociological, phenomenological, aesthetical. Several experts from all over the country universities will participate in the symposium, entitled “Reading Discussions”. Their debates will be focused, among other aspects, on reading experiences and strategies, reading and cinema discourse, reading in times of crisis, or reading and rhetoric.

Organised by ASETEL and the area of Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature of the UB, the symposium is supported by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Science Policy, for Communication and Projection, and for Institutional Relations and Culture, the Deanʼs Office of the Faculty of Philology, the master in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature, and the bookshop La Central.
