This initiative results from an agreement by the members of all collectives of the Catalan universities so as to initiate an extraordinary Senate session in each university whenever the sentence of the trial by the Spanish Supreme Court was released -in order to read a joint statement against the repression of the State and put it to the vote. The Senate of the University of Lleida approved it last Thursday with 108 votes in favour, 12 against, and 3 blank votes. The other Catalan public universities are expected to vote over the course of this week.
