Until mid-February papers can be submitted to the International Congress on Emotional Education, which takes place from 4 to 6 April at the Paranymph Hall of the Historic Building of UB. The Congress happens at the same time than the 10th Conference on Emotional Education and recognises the work developed during the last years on this subject area. Reduced prize registration ends on 10 March.

The congress aims at “communicating the results of latest studies on emotional education in order to make a step forward in social well-being”, explains Rafael Bisquerra, organizer of the congress, professor of Psychoeducational Guidance at UB and director of masterʼs degrees and postgraduate courses at the University.

Furthermore, Bisquerra highlights “the participation in the congress of outstanding experts in the field of emotional education”. One of them is Carmelo Vázquez, professor of Psychopathology at the Complutense University of Madrid and founder of the Spanish Society for Positive Psychology, who will analyse academic and professional challenges of positive psychology.

Marisa Salanova, professor of Social Psychology at Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, also participates in the congress; she will analyse the concept of engagement, in other words, the importance that being committed to our job has for professional well-being. According to Bisquerra, “it means a paradigm shift: it is no longer necessary to suffer in order to earn one's living; on the contrary, we can enjoy ourselves working, but that requires some environmental and personal characteristics”.

Some of the topics to be discussed and analysed on congressʼ workshops are: the principles of emotional ecology; social and emotional aspects of learning; emotion regulation strategies against adversity, such as creativity, and time management to prioritize well-being.
