Objectives and competences

The master's programme focuses on developing an in-depth knowledge of vegetarian and plant-based cuisine, as well as acquiring an understanding of the nutritional foundations underpinning this lifestyle. During the programme, students will explore a wide variety of culinary techniques, from the most basic to more advanced techniques, with the aim of creating innovative, delicious, nutritious and sustainable dishes from plant-based ingredients. Creativity in the kitchen will be encouraged, allowing participants to develop their own style of cooking based on a plant-based diet.

Objectives

To provide students with a sound knowledge of plant-based nutrition and culinary skills, including the identification of key nutrients, dietary guidelines, and the health benefits of plant-based diets, as well as the most appropriate flavourings and techniques for the creation of attractive menus.

-Students with a bachelor's degree, pre-EHEA degree, diploma, engineering degree, architecture degree, technical engineering degree or technical architecture degree or an
equivalent university qualification
- Students who hold a UB-specific degree or an undergraduate degree issued by the University of Barcelona can be also admitted to postgraduate courses, as
an equivalent university qualification will be considered for this purpose.
- Applications for access from students with university-specific degrees issued by other Spanish universities will be assessed by the Postgraduate
Committee or an ad hoc committee of the faculty or school after verifying that the level of the qualification in question is equivalent to a graduate or postgraduate degree.

- Applicants who do not hold the required university qualification can be admitted to the programme and opt for a diploma or university extension certificate with the
same number of credits as the postgraduate course, provided that the course has an established credit value.
- Notwithstanding the above, students having less than 10% left of the necessary credits to complete the required university qualification can be admitted
conditionally to postgraduate course if that possibility has been approved by the course organizers. In this case, students must certify that they have a degree meets the access requirements for the course by
the date established in the syllabus as the last day of the teaching period. Otherwise, if non-degree holders are not specifically allowed to take part in the course
students will not be issued any type of qualification or receive a partial or total refund for the cost of enrolment. If non-degree holders are specifically allowed to take part in the course,
those students with a conditional enrolment can opt to receive the corresponding diploma or a university extension certificate.
- Applicants to any university extension course do not need to hold a university qualification to be admitted. However, they must demonstrate two years of professional experience in the area of the master's degree.
