Objectives and competences

The master's degree has been developed and designed so that all participants will understand how to build an advanced sustainability and responsibility management model in an organization. The model is implemented in all processes and products of the organization and involves all organizational units.
The content design reflects the current need to train professionals who can lead organizations towards a level of competence that ensures their capacity for sustainability, ethics and responsibility (SER) in their management.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

- To design sustainability and responsibility strategies, multi-year plans and sustainability and responsibility programmes based on fundamental analyses (SWOT and PESTLE), competitive benchmarking, relevant issues and studies of materiality.
- To lead sustainability and responsibility in the organization through communication, innovation and social entrepreneurship.
- To design a system of interest groups and frameworks for contact and discussion with the groups.
- To understand the most relevant prescriptive organizations, drivers of change and developers of sustainability and responsibility methodologies, and the most representative regulations and standards.
- To understand the bases and priorities of corporate governance, risk management, ethics and the three lines of defence of a business, and the functions of social responsibility and sustainability management in governance bodies.
- To introduce the management of sustainability and responsibility in the value chain of the business with a focus on commercial management, production/operations, purchases and economic and financial management (ISR) and to gain knowledge of the economic influence.
- To apply sustainability and responsibility to the management of people, particularly talent management, job security and internal social responsibility (equality, work-life balance, disability, etc.) and to gain knowledge on the influence on employment.
- To design and introduce models of sustainability and responsibility in environmental and social management focused on the construction of brands and value associated with these matters.
- To design and launch communication plans and institutional relations and draw up sustainability and responsibility reports on the most demanding and reputable standards and compliance with legislation that could emerge on this issue.
- To adapt all the above objectives to the specific characteristics of administrations, public companies and town councils, considering the key aspects and challenges of these organizations.
