Professional training course co-organized with the ICO that provides for the patient in a terminal situation and their family, from any area of care (primary care, hospital, socio-sanitary and residential care) and offers you the knowledge, communication tools and support instruments necessary to optimize healthcare work. Includes clinical practices in specific palliative care teams.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

- To acquire the nursing knowledge, the abilities and the attitude required to offer palliative care to patients and their families.
- To learn to involve patients in decision-making at end of life.
- To create personalized care plans adapted to the requirements of patients and their relatives in advanced disease and at end of life.
- To master the various communication tools required to establish therapeutic relationships with people in the final stage of their lives and with their relatives.
- To learn to identify and manage one's own emotions in palliative care settings.
- To be capable of identifying the influence of one's own losses in the provision of end-of-life care.
- To identify the key areas and research needs in end-of-life care, to foster on-going professional improvement.
