Objectives and competences

This intensive course is intended for geologists, geological engineers, mining engineers and/or geology students who can prove they have passed the subjects crystallography and mineralogy, in order to complement their training and provide them with the necessary skills to be able to subsequently take the 2nd course in gemmology at the UB and gain access to the UB Degree in Gemmology.

The knowledge that students have previously acquired in their bachelor's degree courses (geology and/or engineering) means that with the specifications (knowledge and competences) that they will receive in this degree once they have passed the 4th assessment test, they will be able to continue their training in the second year.

University degree holders in geology, geological engineering or mine engineering or students in third or fourth years of these degrees that have passed the courses on crystallography and mineralogy.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
